We first met her at a staff member’s apartment complex. At the time, her rent was being paid by an older man who wanted her as his mistress. He initially claimed he just wanted to help because of her difficult past, but later started demanding that she sleep with him. She kept refusing, and when he persisted, she tried introducing him to a friend instead. The man declined, insisting he only wanted her.
One day, he showed up at her place under the pretense of checking in on her but instead attempted to assault her. She rushed outside, frantically calling for help. Thankfully, a neighbor stepped in, and the man fled. Furious that she wouldn’t comply, he cut off her financial support, leaving her devastated.
During a visit to our staff member’s apartment, she was introduced to our staff by her friends. Shy and scared at first, she eventually began to share her story. Hearing it was heartbreaking, especially when she played recordings of the man’s threats. A call was made for help, and soon, she was brought to Bliss House. Over the past few months, she has become very active in dance, has made many new friends, and has helped reach out to other girls living on the streets.
